PTO

Managing a work life balance is easier with paid time off (PTO). Every HIA employee begins accruing PTO beginning on their first day of work. You get a total of 7 national holidays off, plus your birthday is also a paid day off.

Of course, we keep our HIA Family healthy, we’re in the healthcare industry! You have the option of medical, dental, vision, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Critical Illness, Voluntary Term Life, HSA, FSA, paid maternity leave and DCA. We've got you covered.

Volunteering

HIA employees are generous by nature and are all about helping out those less fortunate in their communities and throughout the country. Our Outreach program is made up on employees’ voluntary payroll deductions to charities such as St. Jude’s, No Kid Hungry, ASPCA, Team Rubicon, etc. We’ve had eyeglass drives for the Lyon’s Club, food drives for local food banks and we’ve supported annual breast cancer walks to fund research.

Continuing Education

We know that to maintain HIAs standard of excellence, our people need to be at the top of our game. That’s why our employees have access to our entire Coding Education Library, HIAlearn Academy, with over 200 Action Plans. These learning modules are approved for AHIMA and AAPC CEU's.

Wellbeing

Every full-time employee has access to our robust EAP (Employee Assistance Program). We know life can be stressful and can be connected to financial challenges. One of the many branches of the EAP is provided by Uprise Health. They help manage behavioral health through counseling, and clinical assessment tools. Another branch of the EAP includes Financial Services which gives you 30-day access to a personal money coach among other tools. We want to help keep you healthy in all aspects of your life!

Onboarding Perks

Starting a new job can be nerve-wracking, that's why we bring you onsite to our headquarters in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, for a week to learn the ropes. Get a new job and spend a week at the beach. Not bad, right?

All of our Coding and Consultant positions are remote. New hires receive a laptop and dual monitors to get their home office's set up.

 For milestone HIA anniversaries, the entire company travels together to celebrate. Our past celebrations were held at Mickey's Yacht Club in Disney World, Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island, and Salamander Resort & Spa in Virginia.
